Where I belong

May 25th, 2009

The day I met Teddy. A magnificent Percheron who needed a
rider.

All I ever dreamed was to have a big white horse. That was
the day my dream came true. That was the day my riding career changed forever.

I was a showjumper at the time. The only way I knew how to
ride was ‘get the horse over the jump and
hold on for dear life
’. My first lesson with Pam was, well, painful. Taught
by Lilian Moller, Pam can seriously teach dressage! She has a way of teaching
that makes you want to learn more, to do your best and become the ultimate
horseman.

I have learnt more in my two years at Glen Austin Stables
about horsemanship and riding than I did in my previous six years of riding.
The social life is fantastic, I have made amazing lifelong
friends and a confidant in Pam. The support everyone has given me and Teddy is
unending. The partnership between Teddy and I has grown into an inseperable one.
Who would’ve thought a 1.3 ton horse could pull off precise dressage movements
and WOW judges and onlookers with his grace and beauty.

Every now and then he will have a ‘moment’ much to the delight
of those around.

Glen Austin Stables is my home. It’s where I belong.
