Amazing lesson

Wow, P.C and I enjoyed an amazing lesson today. He is getting so responsive to leg aids and going forward is not a problem in the beginning and middle of the lesson but being a bit unfit he tends to run out of steam the last few minutes of riding. He is becoming soft in the halt and walk with so little effort its amazing to feel. We did the trotting poles first at a walk so he could have a good look and see that both he and I will be ok, also just taking slow so he can build confidence:-) We walked over the trotting poles on both reins like we were doing them for the 100th time then up to a trot and over we went, P.C like the star he is trotted over like it was nothing and you could just feel the energy and power starting to come through, I absolutely loved the feeling. He didnt try to jump or canter them, kept his rhythm beautifully:-) Very chuffed with teddy bear P.C…

After the trotting poles we tried the canter, right rein went superbly. Left rein is starting to become a battle but I believe that in time and with lots of leg we will be super on this rein as well.

Thank you Pam for an amazing lesson and the opportunity to be a part of P.C’s training. I have learned so much from you, you are a stunning instructor and I feel very blessed to have you to learn from.

P.C

Hi

I am riding PC in my lessons with Pam and I am enjoying the challenge, it is indeed a very thrilling experience to be a part of P.C’s learning curve:-)

P.C is a very special boy and I think that Pam has another star on her hands as with DeeDee.

P.C does need a bit more encouragement to get a lovely forward movement but today we had the marching walk down right after our warm up, he is getting more responsive to my leg and I am very chuffed with him, especially today, we hit a bit of a slump on the left rein canter a few lessons ago, Pam encouraged and had a few tricks up her sleeve but P.C didnt want to fall for any tricks, today we trotted a big circle the last 10 or so min of lesson time and practised our transitions from trot to walk to halt and then from halt to trot etc. which P.C did beautifully I might add. We did a few transitions and Pam said O.K we try the canter from the next trot and low and behold it took only 1 1/2 a lap the first time and almost instantly the second time and it felt incredible, he got so responsive he to my leg aid at the near end of our session. The right rein transitions went without a hitch and he does the right rein canter stunningly well.

I am well and truly proud of P.C. Thank you so much Pam.

I would like to be able to enter P.C for the womens day challenge but it will depend on the work I put in from now until then whether he will be ready. I see lots and lots of trotting and transitions in my near future but looking forward to every minute spent with a gentle soul like P.C.
