Riba training show
On the 29th of April Tristan and I decided to be brave and enter our first outside dressage and jumping training show.
The babies boxed in a record time of 30 minutes – a MASSIVE improvement on the previous attempt which took 4 hours…. So we arrived nice and early and we all had time to settle in and have a good look around.
We loved our nice new horsebox with attached paddock and I think it was Glen Austin Stables’ best buy to date!
I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I’d be – funny enough.. and even though Flag was a bit fresh in the warm up arena we coped pretty well and he settled in nicely. The dressage arena had quite a few mirrors so it took him a while to realise they were NOT going to eat him…
Flag cleaned up in the dressage, winning both his prelim classes, got clear rounds in the 40 and 50cm… and proceeded to come 4th in the 50s jump off – Flag and Lily had a lot of competition in the jump off with those little ponies that turn on a ticky, but we are nevertheless extremely happy with our results and can’t wait for the next show – I just need to bring my hands forward a bit more over the jumps, but that will come with experience
